Case Study Template
One of Instructures most important assets are case studies. Not only are they a huge tool for potential customers, but they are full of keywords and content that can have a huge impact on SEO. This project is how we turned over 300 pdf case studies into powerful SEO webpages.

The Instructure Case Studies
Case studies are a crucial part of any business for proving that their product is effective and worth being purchased. They are also highly detailed and contain lots of content that can be used towards improving SEO. The problem that Instructure faced was their case studies were put together in PDF format which when displayed on webpage, provided no impact to SEO. After some collaboration with the team, it was decided that we need to migrate our PDF case studies on to SEO friendly landing pages. This would not be an easy task since, but we needed to tap into these valuable resources.

Challenges with Creating a Template
It was my task to create a landing page template for the PDF case studies to follow. One of the hurdles that quickly made itself known was the variety of different content/design elements that existed across these PDFs. Making a template for inconsistent elements is a challenge and trying to find that "one size fits all" solution can be difficult to achieve. I also needed to make sure that the template did not include any new web components that did not already exist. We wanted to move fast with this since we had over 300 landing pages to build so any unnecessary dev builds were not part of the plan.

The Case Study Template
It was apparent the template needed to be a sort of "Key" or "Legend" a person could use to know what web components to use for each section. We were going to have our contractors be the ones to build these case studies so the template needed to be clear and simple enough to avoid any unnecessary back and forth. Shown below is a section of what I created that was used for each landing page build. After some feedback from our contractors, I was informed that the template was extremely helpful and ended up creating some beautiful case study landing pages.

The Results
Here are 2 examples of the case study landing pages that were created. Notice how they follow the same brand and feel, but have unique components that allow them to tell the story in the best way possible. We were able to recreate our case studies into this format in a timely manner thanks to my template.
